Our friends at Scottish Rugby are recruiting for a number of individuals to add to their pool of Women & Girls Community Coaches to operate across the East Region.
As a part-time role, this would suit current students keen to add some coaching experience around their studies while playing a key role in the development of Women & Girls rugby in the East region.
Role Responsibilities
- Be a positive role model and passionate advocate off Women’s & Girls rugby participation.
- Assist in the delivery of Women’s & Girls evolution events and state school festivals including planning, set up, game scheduling, game coaching and reporting.
- Support Development Officers with the delivery of high-quality rugby sessions in primary and secondary schools and club based come & try and transition events.
- Assist the East Regional Rugby Development Team with the facilitation and delivery of national initiatives such as Scottish Rugby Schools Week, Player Development Hubs, Regional Game Series and Women’s & Girls in Sport week.
- Promote Women’s & Girls rugby participation via effective social media messaging.
- Report on delivery activities and participation numbers using SCRUMS platform.
Role requirements
- Flexible approach to working hours: weekend and evening work will be required.
- Strong communication skills including the ability to effectively liaise with players, coaches, administrators, volunteers and other stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Previous coaching or sports development experience would be advantageous.
- Appropriate rugby coaching and/or refereeing qualifications, (Rugby Right, Coaching Essentials etc)
- A satisfactory Disclosure Scotland PVG check is mandatory.
- IT literate including Microsoft Excel, word and e-mail.
- A full valid driving licence would be advantageous with sessions based throughout the East region
How to Apply
Successful individuals will be engaged and deployed via a contract of services with Scottish Rugby at a rate of £15.00 per hour with travel expenses reimbursed at 45p per mile. In addition to this Scottish Rugby will provide uniform, equipment required for delivery, ongoing support and learning for development opportunities.
