Multiple Roles | Scottish Student Shinty

Become an influential volunteer and support Scottish Student Shinty in delivering a fantastic season of sport! 5x roles available.

The Scottish Student Shinty Sports Development Group are recruiting for a new group of incredible volunteers to help promote and develop the sport.

Chair

The Chair will enjoy an excellent opportunity to lead the group, continute to an exciting and inclusive sports programme, and work closely with the Scottish Governing Body.

Working alongside SSS, you will be responsible for leading the group on event delivery, creating the group’s action plan, and keeping members on track to achieve set goals in developing student shinty in Scotland.

Vice-Chair

Supporting the Chair, you will work with the rest of the group to create and deliver a development plan across a range of areas including competition, workforce, club development, and publicity.

Key responsibilities will include building relationships with student captains, support with the running of events, and support with the tracking and managing of budgets alongside the SSS Business Manager.

Development Officer

The Development Officer will focus their work around workforce development, supporting club growth, EDI and any other areas agreed as part of the action plan.

You will help to set policy for your sport, oversee the national squad programme, and may be asked to lead on any specific projects being delivered at the time.

Competitions Officer

As Competitions Officer, you will work with the rest of the group to create and deliver an action plan across a range of areas including competition, workforce, club development, and publicity.

Taking a particular focus on events, you will help deliver competitions in person, ensuring a fantastic experience for all participating students.

Communications Officer

In the role of Communications Officer, you will be responsible for organising and guiding the group’s efforts to publicise itself and its activities.

Alongside managing any public-facing social channels, you will also be on hand to help capture the action on event days, or support with finding volunteer photographers and content creators.
