Multiple Roles | Scottish Student Basketball

Scottish Student Basketball are on the lookout for four new individuals to join the dynamic Development Group. The roles are:

• Chair
• Communications Officer
• College Representative
• Student Representative

Supported by a Scottish Student Sport (SSS) member of staff, the committee work to help run student basketball activity in Scotland including events and development work.

Chair

As Chair you will lead the Development Group, including up to 4x meetings per year, plus oversee all group members project work.

There will be a responsibility to manage the Scottish Student Basketball action plan, recruit new members to the Development Group, and develop the sport’s calendar alongside SSS staff.

Communications Officer

Leading on all things communications, in this role you will manage a variety of communication channels to showcase your sport and engage the student membership.

You will also support in key events such as Basketball National Finals, and contribute to the wider Development Group’s goals.

Student Representative

You will communicate on a regular basis with the club captains of student clubs to canvass their opinions, representing them in Development Group meetings.

There will also be opportunities to support in the delivery of key SSS events, like Conference Finals and Basketball National Finals, and to assist in the delivery of ongoing development projects.

College Rep

This development-orientated role will help establish and maintain links with colleges across the country, and support in developing basketball programmes in these institutions.
