Two new roles have opened up on the Scottish Student Fencing Development Group – Competitions Officer and Development Officer.
The Fencing Development Group has been established to guide the work of Scottish Student Sport (SSS) in Fencing, and you will represent the interests of all member institutions and student clubs to improve fencing for students in Scotland.
This will see you support the organisation and delivery of ALL student fencing events, by working closely with the SS Fencing Chair and other key partners and develop plans to grow participation through delivery of an engaging competition structure.
You will also help to set policy for fencing and may be asked to lead on any specific projects being delivered at the time, to improve the student fencing experience for the community.
Competitions Officer
In this role you will support in the delivery of the SS Fencing Beginners and Individuals Championships.
You will also help improve the structure and coordination of the BUCS Fencing Centralised League weekends. Alongside this, there will be the opportunity to develop the programme and offering of the Scottish Student Fencing competition scene.

Development Officer
You will be focused on enhancing the reach and impact of the Scottish Student Fencing programme across all institutions.
This will see you develop the current student network and support with upskilling committee members. You will also aid SSS and Scottish Fencing with building long-term improvements to the student fencing offering.
