Key Information
Student Archery brings together high performing individuals, as well as a large number of novice and intermediate archers, from across Scotland and the UK.
The Archery programme offers something for everyone, from our Indoor and Outdoor Championships, Head-To-Head Competitions, the Archery League and several opportunities to socialise with fellow Archers.

Sam Chapman
Sam first tried archery aged 9 when his Grandma took him to a local club in the Borders and after his first arrow landed right in the middle of the gold he was hooked!
As a student at Heriot-Watt University Sam joined the Archery Club where he spent the majority of his free time. His ‘obsession’ followed him to the University of Strathclyde for his Postgrad and while now graduated with a career in Financial Crime, he continues to enjoy competing and volunteering in the sport.
Why Volunteer?
“I have been volunteering in various archery roles ever since my first year as a student. From small events such as bake sales to being the President of the club, I have done just about everything.
“Joining the SSA team felt not only like the next step for me but also the perfect way to put my experience to the test and make meaningful changes to student archers across Scotland.”
