FREE PICTURE: Doddie Weir Charity Rugby Match Preview, 11/04/2018:
Doddie’s class act: Scotland international rugby legend’s college friends set to tackle SRUC’s current crop in Edinburgh charity match:
Former classmates of Doddie Weir are among past and present students at Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) scrummaging together to raise money for the rugby legend’s motor neurone disease charity.
Now two of his former classmates, including Hamish Dykes from the BBC’s Lambing Live programme, and David Ireland, director of waste recycling company 3R Solutions, will turn out for an SRUC Alumni team against the college’s current Edinburgh Agrics (correct) side in a special charity match. They hope to raise at least £2,000 for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation (correct).
The SRUC match will take place at Peffermill Playing Fields on Wednesday 18 April (kick-off 7pm), and entry is free.
