Scotland is the birthplace of Golf, so, as you might expect, the SSS programme is rich in golfing history. Student Golf is stronger and more competitive in Scotland than anywhere else in the UK due to the concentration of excellent players and fine courses.

Meet your Sports Chair
Olivia King
Olivia has been involved in sport since the age of 2, taking part in golf, swimming and dance while growing up. Not afraid of a new challenge, her time as a student saw her try other sports including netball and rugby.
Her varied sports background set her up well to be Athletic Union President at the University of St. Andrews. Since then, she has moved into an exciting role with Team Scotland ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

“Scottish Student Sport work so hard to provide our students with as many sporting opportunities as possible and I thought it a great organisation to be involved with.
“It’s great working with people who share a common goal of strengthening representation and development within student golf.
“I am so passionate about growing the student golf pathway and enhancing the overall student sporting experience. So therefore there is no better group to be a part of and work with.”
